System 7 installation is taking the world by storm, and everyone's asking questions. All of ON Technology's products will work in a system 7 environment. Meeting Maker and Instant Update were designed to conform to all applicable system 7 standards.
On Location, developed more than a year before system 7 became available, will also work. There are some limitations that users should be aware of, though.
Index In Background won't work. The On Location startup icon will appear with an X thru its center.
Open and Print will not work if Desktop Manager is used in place of Desktop.
(Desktop is System 6 system software. Although not part of the "standard" system 7 package, it is System 7 compatible. If Desktop is used, Open and Print will work. Desktop can be imported from any system 6 startup disk).
One last note- On Location isn't 32-bit clean. Users who switch their Macs to 32-bit addressing will not be able to use On Location.
We're working on a new version of On Location, which should be due out later this year. We'll notify all registered end users of the upgrade and we'll also post information here on America Online.
